ESL/Adult Education
The ESL teacher for the Adult Education Department is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to a group of diverse adult learners. Candidates should have experience teaching English to adult learners and have a track record of the ability to encourage student participation and attendance, provide students with appropriate learning materials aligned to standards, and maintain an inclusive classroom with accessible materials for a range of proficiency levels and cultures. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience teaching English to adults and understand NYSED Adult Education policies and procedures tied to funding streams. Candidates must participate in 14 hours of professional development annually. Ideal candidates will have experience analyzing classroom/student assessment data and a thorough understanding of research based best-practices for teaching English to adults from a myriad of cultural backgrounds.
Special Qualifications: Must have availability Wednesday and Thursday from 5-9PM. This position is a 12 month position with programming at Kenmore Junior/Senior High School.
