Maintenance Mechanic A, FT - Buildings and Grounds

Hours: 7:00 a.m - 3:30 p.m (8 hours per day, 40 hours per week) - Core Duty Schedule—*Hours may change due to seasonal needs.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Support the Director of Facilities and the operations at the Buildings & Grounds Department. Working knowledge of rough carpentry, mechanical repair work, painting or other construction or maintenance trades; efficiency in the use of hand tools and machine tools; ability to perform semi-skilled manual tasks without constant supervision; ability to learn trade skills and methods; ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions; integrity; physical strength and endurance; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Graduation from high school or vocational school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and one (1) year of experience as a helper in any of the skilled building or service trades; or
  2. Five (5) years of satisfactory experience as a helper in any of the skilled building or service trades or
  3. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (a) and (b).          

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possess or obtain a valid NYS CDL Class B driver’s license within 6 months from the date of hire.

$22.28-$34.71/hour
Cleaner FT - Kenmore East High School

Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (8 hours per day, 40 hours per week) — Core Duty Schedule 

Duties of Assignment: Support the Director of Facilities, the Head Custodian and the operations at the building. Performs routine manual tasks requiring physical effort in the cleaning and care of the building.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of the properties of various cleaning substances; ability to understand and follow verbal and simple written instructions; ability to stand; stoop, bend and stretch for long periods of time; ability to use various cleaning equipment and products; ability to climb ladders and scaffolds; thoroughness; dependability; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

Acceptable Training and Experience: There are no educational or experience requirements.  Applicants must be able to perform physical labor.

 

$17.00 - $26.49 per hour
