Clerk Typist FT - Athletics

Hours: 9:00a.m. – 5:00p.m. (7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week) - 12-Month Duty Schedule

IF APPOINTED PROVISIONALLY, THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT MUST BE QUALIFIED TO TAKE THE CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION WHEN MADE AVAILABLE. FOR PERMANENT APPOINTMENT, THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST HOLD THE TITLE OF CLERK TYPIST OR MUST BE CANVASSED AND REACHABLE FROM THE EXISTING CIVIL SERVICE LIST.

Job Duties: Responsible for all facets of the Encore Rental Office: responds to all rental requests from outside groups; creates building permits for both outside and district groups; maintains a district-wide facility-use calendar for buildings and athletic fields; creates and manages all digital applications for facility usage; coordinates facility requests and coverage with Buildings & Grounds and school administration; coordinates and schedules Community Education facility needs; coordinates and schedules Interscholastic Athletic facility needs by using scheduling software; submits work orders to Buildings & Grounds using QWare; executes rental contracts with outside groups; ensures that all outside groups carry the required amount of insurance; invoice groups and collect payments; ensures that groups are properly staffed, including custodial support, AV Tech and appropriate food regulations. Physical Education and Athletics Office Duties: assists with developing practice and game plans as they relate to interscholastic teams; creates end-of-the-year awards programs; both virtually and live; assists with Athletic Awards Nights, Homecoming, Alumni Events and Hall of Fame Induction weekends; assists as needed with events and projects for the Niagara Frontier League, Section VI and NYSPHSAA state championships. Submit Scholar Athlete information; coordinate athletic shuttles; maintain information on the website and any other duties as assigned by an administrator.  

Special Qualifications: Proficient with the following platforms: Google Workspace; Microsoft Office; Infinite Campus; flexibility to work some evening and weekend hours when needed; ability to prioritize and juggle many tasks. Has previously demonstrated skills including: attention to detail; excellent communication skills; verbal and written; experience in a collaborative team setting; experience running large social events; creativity; evidence of Life-Long Learning.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must meet the following requirements on or before the date of the written test: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma including or supplemented by a course in typing (see Notes 1–3).

Special Note: Under current New York State Law, candidates seeking employment with school districts in New York State will be required to undergo fingerprinting and a criminal history background check prior to appointment. A processing fee may be required.

Notes: 1. One year of office clerical experience, which includes typing, may be substituted for the required typing course. 2. Office clerical experience, including typing, may be substituted for the high school requirement on a year-for-year basis. 3. Possession of an Associate’s degree or higher can substitute for the required typing course. 4. Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be prorated toward meeting full-time experience requirements.

$17.20-$26.80 per hour
