Job Description
General Duties: The Proctor for the High School Equivalency Testing Center is a Certified Pearson Vue Examiner working under the supervision of the Adult Education Director, responsible for providing secure exam delivery, ensuring strict policy adherence, managing candidate check-in verification, proctoring in-person exams, troubleshooting technology matters that may arise mid-test delivery, and other essential functions pertaining to providing secure test administration for the High School Equivalency Test (GED Exam). This position is 100% funded by means of a NYSED contract with the sole purpose to provide test administration services, and thus, employment after contract end date (12/31/2028) is not guaranteed. The hourly rate for this part-time position is $25.00 an hour. Candidates must hold, or be willing to obtain at their own expense, a NYSED Adult Education Instructor/Assessment" certification.
Special Qualifications: WORK LOCATION: Kenmore Junior/Senior High School SCHEDULE: The schedule for High School Equivalency Test Proctor will vary from month to month (testing takes place year-round), with the Proctor typically working two 5-6 hour shifts per week, dependent on the testing schedule and number of sub-tests scheduled to be delivered. The Proctor will work alongside other Test Center staff to schedule exam delivery days based upon community need, building availability, contract requirements, and staff availability. Exam/Certification Requirements: The High School Equivalency Test Proctor must participate in an annual NYSED HSE Test Center Refresher training and pass the Pearson Vue Certification exam annually. There are no additional professional development requirements.
