Full-Time, Non-Represented, Core Schedule
HOURS: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week)
IF APPOINTED PROVISIONALLY, THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT MUST BE QUALIFIED TO TAKE THE CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION WHEN MADE AVAILABLE. FOR PERMANENT APPOINTMENT, THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST HOLD THE TITLE OF ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT OR MUST BE CANVASSED AND REACHABLE FROM THE EXISTING CIVIL SERVICE LIST.
JOB DUTIES: Prepare cash receipts for all funds received; prepare daily deposits; prepare and input general journal entries; Update cash sheets daily; daily bank balance review and reconciliation; spreadsheet updates and account review and reconciliation as needed; responsible for all transactions, reporting, and monitoring of the School Lunch Fund; assist with the General Fund; analysis, recording, and monitoring of field trips; assists, develops, recommends and implements new or improved accounting process and procedures; assists District Treasurer and Assistant Superintendent for Finance with any tasks and special projects as needed.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite is helpful. Knowledge of double entry accounting principles and prior bookkeeping experience is preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
a) Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or finance; and two years of satisfactory accounting or auditing experience; or
b) An associate degree in accounting, business administration, or finance; and two years of satisfactory accounting or auditing experience; or
c) Any combination of training and experience equivalent to a) or b).
