The Kenmore Tonawanda School District is looking to hire a probationary music teacher for the 2024-25 school year to teach K-4 general music and 4th grade chorus at Holmes Elementary.

A valid New York State teaching certificate in Music K-12
-
Demonstrated successful classroom experience at the elementary level (K - 4)

Demonstrate ability to conduct a 4th grade chorus
-
Demonstrate skills on Uke, Piano, Recorder, hand drumming and Orff instruments

Demonstrate excellent aural acuity

Has a firm belief in the potential of all students

Demonstrate ability to implement reliable classroom management strategies

Demonstrate ability to work cooperatively and effectively with staff members, colleagues, administration, parents, and community groups.

Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire students at a variety of ability levels

Demonstrate a strong work ethic and attention to detail and organization

Ability to reflect on teaching - allowing for growth

Demonstrated willingness to contribute within and outside the department for school community and extracurricular events (school musical, chaperon, school events, etc.)

Possess knowledge of the NYS Music Learning Standards
