Hours: 8:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. (6.5 hours per day, 32.5 hours per week) - 10 month duty schedule

Minimum Qualifications:  Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, and; additional experience and knowledge in a particular field where specialized duties are involved; or have served in a community service organization, child-centered service or educational organization for a minimum of one (1) year; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Duties of Assignment:  Personal 1:1 aide for a special education student. Ensure student safety throughout the building; help student transition throughout the building.  Provide student  support in all academic areas that may include: behavior modification programs through encouragement and emotional development; provide direct supervision for student while attending academic classes and extra-curricular activities; provide guidance, support and proximity control throughout the realm of any given school day; duties may include lifting, feeding, and personal care duties that may include toileting and personal hygiene as noted on the student’s IEP. Assist with student instruction, focused on RTI, including movement to/from portable classroom.  Building principal may assign additional duties as needed.

Special Qualifications:  Must be patient and empathetic, have a calm demeanor and ability to develop a strong rapport with parents and related services staff.  Experience with special needs students is desirable.

$16.00 - $24.93 per hour
Security Aide TEMP- Kenmore East

Hours: 8:15 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (6.75 hours per day, 33.75 hours per week) - 10 month duty schedule

** This is a temporary position which concludes upon the return of the incumbent or no later than 6/27/2025 **

Minimum Qualifications:  Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, and; additional experience and knowledge in a particular field where specialized duties are involved; or have served in a community service organization, child-centered service or educational organization for a minimum of one (1) year; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.                                                                                                  

Duties of Assignment: The work involves building relationships with students and staff while providing security for buildings and property to ensure the safety of employees, students and the visiting public.  This is a para-professional security position responsible for monitoring the activities within the school facilities.  The incumbent is responsible for taking appropriate action to prevent or minimize disruption to the normal school day.  The incumbent receives direct supervision from school administration, will take daily direction from the School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to the building and also must exercise judgment in emergency situations or when supervision is not available.  Does related work as required or assigned by Administration and/or the SRO.
 

Special Qualifications: Able to implement effective safety and security protocols to ensure a safe school environment. Should possess excellent student supervisory and communication skills and treat all people with respect to build and maintain a positive school climate. Incumbent will work with Administration, SRO and District Safety teams to gain more knowledge regarding District safety codes and emergency preparedness plans. Assist the security team to facilitate and improve safety and security programs. Ability to maintain confidential records and must be a team player and reliable. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position; once hired, additional professional training may be required. 

Typical Work Activities: Patrol buildings and adjoining areas to ensure the security of employees, students, visitors and property; Removes disorderly persons from premises;

Inspects buildings and grounds for potential fire hazards or other security problems;

Provide verbal direction and utilize de-escalation tactics with students to avoid verbal or physical altercations with other students, staff members or visitors; Utilize specialized training and skills when necessary to provide physical intervention and restraint to protect the health and welfare of individuals; May conduct searches of the facilities as required when threatening situations occur; Conducts investigations concerning losses of property, completing all required reports; Performs daily duties such as logging incidents, filing, etc.; May operate equipment such as, but not limited to, circuit television monitors, fire alarm systems, radio communication systems, computers and telephones; Responds to alarms of fire and performs duties necessary to protect life and property, including the use of fire suppression apparatus and evacuation of staff, students and visitors; Responds to emergency situations within the facility and controls vehicles and/or pedestrian traffic; Performs duties relative to safety and fire protection, such as, safety inspections of equipment and the physical plant and immediate correction of hazards; Furnishes information and assistance to visitors, contractors and employees; Enforces the facility’s Policies and Procedures, as directed; Prepares depositions and reports necessary to all activities performed, as required.

Additional Training Required:

A)    Successful completion of Security Guard Training;

B)    Updated CPR, 1st Aid and AED certification;

C)    Updated Crisis Prevention & Intervention (CPI) training

* Training shall be provided by the District once hired.

$18.00 - $28.04/hr.
Teacher Aide RPT 12:1 (3+1) - Hoover Elementary

Hours: 8:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. (6.5 hours per day, 32.5 hours per week) - 10 month duty schedule

Minimum Qualifications:  Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, and; additional experience and knowledge in a particular field where specialized duties are involved; or have served in a community service organization, child-centered service or educational organization for a minimum of one (1) year; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Duties of Assignment: Aide in a 12:1 (3+1) Special Education Classroom. Ensure student safety throughout the building; help student transition throughout the building.  Provide student support in all academic areas, which may include: behavior modification programs through encouragement and emotional development; provide direct supervision for student while attending academic classes and extracurricular activities; provide guidance, support and proximity control throughout the realm of any given school day; duties may include lifting, feeding, and personal care duties that may include toileting and personal hygiene as noted on the student’s IEP. Assist with student instruction, focused on RTI, including movement to/from portable classroom.  The building principal may assign additional duties as needed.  

$16.00-$24.93 per hour
Support Staff Substitutes

Teacher Aides, School Monitors, Clerk Typists

Hours vary anywhere from 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

TEACHER AIDE SUBSTITUTE: Duties may include: student support in all academic areas that may include behavior modification programs throughout encouragement and emotional development; provide direct supervision for student while attending academic classes and extra-curricular activities; provide guidance, support and proximity control throughout the realm of any given school day; duties may include lifting, feeding, and personal care duties that may include toileting and personal hygiene as noted on the student’s IEP.

SCHOOL MONITOR SUBSTITUTE:  Duties may include: managing order and cleanliness in cafeteria, hallway and in a classroom setting; ability to gain and hold the confidence of and to maintain a patient and understanding attitude toward school children; ability to maintain order and to enforce school regulations with firmness; ability to lift and carry cafeteria supplies and materials.

CLERK TYPIST SUBSTITUTE:  General office duties – must have ability to assist in an office setting in a professional, welcoming and efficient manner when interacting with students, parents, and staff; ability to multitask, maintain confidential information, and be part of an office team; must also have a willingness to perform any and all duties assigned by Administrators.

$15.50 per hour
